First donation

We forgot to press “publish” on this, a few days ago, so here it is, re-published…

Robert de Jong, owner (or should we say writer) of The It Factory blog donated. It wouldn’t be much reason to write about, except for him being the first one. But the thing is, the plugin didn’t work for him at that time but he loved the idea. Since version 0.6 we fixed the bug and his data is now in good hands.

FAQ: Will the plugin break my site?

A few of the pre-beta-testers asked us how much do we test a function before we make it public, fearing we might break the blog with the plugin.

Our answer: 50+ servers with around 70 blogs with various plugins installed (last count was just shy of 60 different plugins). Most of the tests are automated: copy all the database to a local backup via mysql dump or other various methods, deactivate script, upload new version, upload secondary plugin with the test-function, run the test, re-download the database and look for changes. It takes a while but it’s worth it. Haven’t broken one single wordpress install since the second day of development.
